At DJPA we encourage our pupils to take pride and pleasure in appearing beautifully groomed as looking smart and elegant enhances the way in which the children feel when they dance. Pupils must have the correct uniform for their class and anyone dressed incorrectly will not be permitted to take part.
If you are attending a class for the first time own clothing can be worn, wear
something loose and comfortable, bare feet for Ballet/Modern/Jazz, and hard soled shoes for Tap classes.
When enrolling your child into the school, you will be provided with the details of the regulation
uniform for all genres.
Well-groomed hair is essential so the teacher can observe a clear line of the head, neck and upper
back; which is vital in dance. We ask that all students make a concerted effort to come to class
wearing a bun or headband for shorter hair.
Jewellery of any nature should not be worn during lessons for health and safety reasons. Pupils
arriving to class wearing jewellery will not be able to take part until it has been removed.
